What training at Mr. G's Karate has done for me.
By participating in Martial Arts my life has improved. I made new friends and learned to feel good about myself.  I know being a Black Belt is to continue to learn something new each day, to set an example to others, to be a leader and to be willing to serve my community.  Before I joined my instructor’s Karate Studio I had low confidence, and mild depression.  But when I joined I gained confidence. Before, I used my anger and size as my weapon.  I did not want to fight but I kept getting teased and picked on at school.  I’ve learned how not to use my anger as a source of strength, never to use my techniques in offense but only in defense no matter what happens.  I now have enough confidence in myself to walk away from afight.

Enrolling our son in Mr. G's Kenpo Karate was the best thing we could have done for him.  He has gained self-confidence and self-discipline while learning to interact with and respect others.  A direct result of Mr. G's instruction of my son has given me a young man that I can respect and admire.

Mr. G’s Kenpo Karate program has been a joy and pleasure for our 10 year old son as well as for my husband and self.  We never imagined how much we would all learn from Mr. G’s classes.

Jackson is always eager and excited to come to his class. He has more confidence and his physical abilities increase weekly, plus he smiles a lot.  Mr. G’s classes and dojo are a loving and uplifted place for students and parents alike.  We all love it and feel so fortunate to be part of this community.

Most of all, I’ve seen an improvement in my daughter’s schoolwork. This is due, I believe to her willingness to transfer her new found confidence to other aspects of her life.  Hannah is having a great time. She’s learning more than self defense – she’s learning many important life skills.

Hannah Johnson
My daughter, Hannah, has been studying karate at Mr. G’s for about 4 months. During that time I’ve seen several positive changes in my daughter. First Hannah is more self confident. Second, she is more willing to take on new and different experiences. Hannah has done well at Mr. G’s and has moved up in the belts. She’s decided that she wants to be more of an example in the dojo and to her classmates in school as she is willing to accept the responsibilities that go along with the belt and the responsibilities expected of her by Mr. G.

Dear Mr. Güereña
I wanted to share with you a recent experience regarding our eleven year old son, Joshua.  A few weeks ago we were invited to a birthday party with a karate theme.  The parents knew Joshua was involved in Karate and asked if he would give a demonstration.

Parents and approximately 25 children ranging in age from 6 to 10 years old were in attendance.  When it came time for the demonstration, Joshua in full dress uniform, proceeded to give a very thorough demonstration which included the students creed, various forms, techniques and even some grappling moves.  For over twenty minutes he kept young and old captivated.

I cannot tell you the number of parents that shared with me how well Joshua represented Kenpo Karate, as well as his maturity level and his gentleness with teaching their children.  They were also very impressed to learn that Kenpo Karate is a disciplined way of life that teaches the value of respect, honor, perseverance, servant leadership and many other principles essential for living a productive life today.

I would like to thank you for your contributions in helping Joshua develop into the young man he has become.  Your values and teaching style have re-enforced the positive life style we desire for our son.
